The pattern is giving you suggestions for the type of fabric's you can use. It is also giving you the amount and sizes of the bias tape(for edging i assume) and the amount and width of the velcro. How much sewing exp do you have?? If not much i'd stay away from a fabric with a nap(like microsuede, corduroy ect)
