AKC has 2 color grades for Yorkies, Blue and Gold-which is silvery body and gold head and Black and tan, whose black stays black. My Yorkie is 3 yrears old in which the black should start turning silvery, but it hasn't yet.
They turn all kinds of colors until they are grown, and even then you never know what color grade they will be.
