Welcome to both of you newbies. As for the potty training it takes a lot of patience...several months...not just weeks. Learn his signs. Watch and see if he is sniffing around before he goes and then grab him up and put him where he is supposed to go. Praise, praise, praise when he does what he is supposed to. Just keep your eye on him all the time. Good luck
