Cry Help with potty training!

My boyfriend and I recently bought a yorkie puppy of 11 weeks old who is now going on 13 weeks. For the few weeks we have had him, we have been having a very hard time trying to housebreak him. At times he will go on the puppy pads, but usually its behind his crate, in the closet, on our bed, in his own bed or blanket, or right beside the puppy pad. We try to tell him right from wrong and steer him in the right direction but it is getting very frustrating. We even tried giving him treats when he does go on the pads but it doesnt seem to make a difference. And now instead of the engergetic, fun loving dog we brought home, his mood is more sullen and quiet & almost "pouts" now. I was under the impression dogs did not like to pee or poo in their own beds but he does it daily. Is this just laziness or what kind of tips should we know in order to get him on the right path to being housebroken?

He has also been eating his poo on several occasions.. is this normal??
