I know their sense of smell is really much better than ours. Although I will say...like my daughter and the school bus? Well sometimes she is not even on THAT bus when it comes by...but Ramsey and Reese think she is.
The documentary also said they "know" time....as in a daily routine...somehow they learn WHAT time they need to go sit by the door.
My cats do the same thing....I am greeted each and every afternoon when I get home. They are sitting in the driveway waiting....if I show up at an unexpected time...they aren't there.
