I watched a documentary about that. Murfee knows the sound of your car...long before you pull up in the driveway. Their hearing is so acute...he hears squeaks and squeals you can't hear.
They associate different sounds to different people. The truck sound means daddy....my suv...ME...the school bus means my daughter.
