Well, I guess it was a false alarm, as everything is now back to normal and I am still waiting, more or less patiently.
Thanks bjh for suggesting that it might be low blood sugar. I gave Ciara karo syrup, followed by NutriCal when I finally remembered where I had decided to keep it. She quit shivering and her temp came up and she has been fine since.
After reading more of the posts, I ordered some CalSorb, so that I would have it when she does decide to whelp. It should be here today or tomorrow. I also ordered NutriDrops and Nursemate.
I have no idea how much CalSorb to give her. Online it says 1-3 cc, but does it depend on the size of the dog? Should I give it to her when she starts the final stages of labor or wait to see if she has a problem? |
