Wrigley has separation anxiety too! She tends to shake and honk when we come home! When she was a puppy she did the loud screaming like you are describing, she's now 1 1/2.

My advice would be to kind of ignore him when you first come home. Don't talk to him, especially in an excited or baby type voice and I wouldn't pick him up right away. Let him calm down for a few minutes and go about your business. Picking them up doesn't help to calm them, I think it actually affirms the anxiety they are feeling at that time!
We started doing that with Wrigley and she is really so much better now!
I know it seems like you are kind of mean by ignoring them, especially since we are so excited to see them, but it's really what is best when your dog has the anxiety!
