I work from 9-5 and don't know what to do with him while I'm gone. Right now he has "all access" to my apartment. If I continue this, I feel nothing is changing he'll just go over to the pad that I do have down and continue to use it. So do I keep him in a small confined area during the day, like an xpen?Yes, get an xpen but make sure its tall enough so he doesn't learn to jump out. You will keep a pad, his water bowl, bed, and toys. And keep a pad in there? I feel like that won't teach him anything b/c as soon as he has to go, he'll go over to the pad and use it. He will learn to use the pee pad and it will be more difficult to get him to go outside because he will be confused. Stick with a training method, Charlie is pee pad trained and the breeder told me when he got the hang of it to slowly move the pee pad outside. And then keep him in his crate at night? You will want to keep him in his crate at night so he doesn't pee on your bed and it's also safe for him. Also, in the evening when I am home watching him...do I keep a pad down in the "usual spot" or should I take that away to show him that isn't available anymore....ONLY OUTSIDE !! You might want to move the pad outside, but I'm not too sure since I'm not at that stage yet..surely someone else has an answer! Thanks for any help...
Good Luck!
