It IS a lot of hoops to jump thru but it's only that bad the first time. Then it's just keeping up with the paperwork before you go. 'Course if it's just a trip every once in a great while, it's pretty traumatic.
However, just the fact that they have to go cargo on the way there (they can fly in cabin on the way back, b/c by then, they figure if the dog is safe to be IN Hawaii, he's certainly safe to ship out) is what's assuring that I won't be going to visit my dad again until they change that
...and I'm used to being in Hawaii every October til I got Max. It's no big deal to be in Honolulu to get them before 5 pm,unless there's some weird glitch in flights. Like I said before, I've got at least one friend who's got two small dogs (not Yorkies, I think they're Maltese) and he takes them over every couple of months and doesn't have a problem since the very first trip.
Me, I'm staying stateside unless it's a dire emergency!
