Holly can climb up and out of anything. I had to buy her a pen with smooth plastic sides that she cannot get out of. You might try having a piece of plexi glass cut to fit over the width of the gate, then secure it to the gate by drilling holes in it and using screws or ties or something. Put the plexi-glass side towards the room where you contain your dog. That should keep him from climbing out. The little bugger!
