The temp. on the plane really varies. I would think you would be fine with just a sweatshirt. Typically you can ask for a pillow and blanket on the plane if you should need it. Boarding time really varies with what airline you are flying with; With some you board according to letter/section. Normally boarding begins about 30- 45 minutes before your flight is supposed to depart.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it to much. I'm sure you'll be fine! Just grab lunch and dinner in the same terminal of your flight, if you can, so that you can listen out for when your flight boards.
