I would place an 8 pound 8 month old in a pet home and have him or her spayed/neutered and placed on AKC limited registration because the pup is over the standard. I placed a very nice 7 month old bitch puppy into a pet home because she was going to be in the 7 1/2 to 8 pound range and that was really her only fault. I could have kept her but I show and she's over the standard so I had her spayed and placed her into a pet home. She was also a very nice representation of the breed too....
