If I have puppies and I place in a pet home I never give full registration. I only give AKC papers once a puppy is spayed or neutered but starting now I won't be placing a puppy without having them spayed or neutered first.
Some register the puppy just to say they are registered with AKC but IMO it's not really necessary to register a pet but I do like to see that they are registered so I will have record of them.
