Does eating the lower quality foods reduce lifespan or make dogs more prone to problems? |
In my opinion NO...our old chihuahua lived to be 19 eating purina, my golden retriever lived to be 18, put her to sleep because of cancer, eating kibbles and bits, and my sisters yorkie is 12 and on pedigree and doing fine..I think if you find a food they like and they're not getting sick or having diarrhea, just stick with it...Food is very controversial, everyone has their opinions, I myself like the nutro ultra, as they have less poop with it..I'm not changing mine anymore..The thing is, all of the dogs we had that lived well past 15 years, were on what people would call crap food, yet, everyone of those dogs was healthy all their lives..the only time the golden retriever had diarrhea, was when I fed her cooked hamburger(nothing added)..
