Two Yorkies are better than one We got our first yorkie puppy "Holly" in December 2005 at the age of 3-1/2 months. Although we didn't leave her alone very often, we still felt sorry for her when we went out to eat and she couldn't go. We always took her shopping at Petsmart and when she would see another puppy or small dog, she would cry and try to play with them. We called our breeder in East Texas and she had a female she had planned on keeping for show and breeding. This one was 9 pounds and had gotten to big to breed according to AKC standards. Our first female was already 10 pounds so we knew the size would be good for us. We picked up our second yorkie "Shelby" who was 1-1/2 years old. They get along great and in one year have become best friends. Guess you'll have to be careful to find one a similar size so that they can play and no one gets hurt, but I don't think you'll be sorry. Good luck. |
