she was expecting 4 puppies. But, last night at 10:30pm she tried to deliver her first pup but could not quite push her all the way out. We helped her by pulling the puppy out. The pup was not breathing and we tried to revive her with a guidance of the vet on the phone, but could not get her to breathe and was probably a stillborn. The vet said to rush Bella to the hospital so they could save the rest of the litter. Bella gave birth to her second puppy at 4:30 am but it took almost 6 hrs. Now it is almost 10 hrs since then and she has not had the third puppy or 4th puppy. The vet has given her oxytocin by injection and then a few hours later by I.V. and still no sign of puppies. They said her uterus is either too tired or weak and the pups may be too large for her to deliver them. Now, they have decided to give her a C-section because it is taking too long and could be dangerous for both Bella and the puppies. The vet did say that she is being a great mom to the one puppy that she had on her own by grooming her and feeding her. We'll keep you posted on the outcome. We're just waiting patiently and so concerned for Bella. We know she is in good hands for the proper care. THanks so much for your support and encouragement...it is much appreciated!
