Animal Smiley 019 luxating left knee

Help!!!! I took Poppy to the vet last week for her yearly vaccination. Whilst there She had a general health check and the vet asked if i had any concerns. I mentioned that when she woke up from a snooze the other day she limped on her back leg for about a minute and was then back to normal. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. I was quite shocked when the vet after feeling her back legs mentioned luxating knee, ordered one week of strict rest and a weeks course of rimadyl tablets, to be followed by a week of gentle exercise and then a general annisthetic and x-ray and possible operation. I don't really get on with the particular vet i saw as he always seems to be trying to sell you something everytime you visit. I am terrified about my angel having a general annisthetic / possible operation and feel after doing some research on the internet that the operation can bring on the onset of artheritis ,I might not go back for any treatment. Poppy is as lively as ever and strict rest is impossible but she is in no evident pain, what should I do.
