Think of YOUR puppy being used ONLY to produce other puppies for a breeder to sell. Think of YOUR puppy living it's entire life in a small wire cage with limited to no vet care. Think of YOUR puppy having no human contact. Think of YOUR puppy living in a place way too hot for the summer with no venilation and in the winter the same place being so cold they can't get warm. YOUR puppy not ever getting enough to eat because the food they are fed they have to fight to get their share. The water either not being there or dirty all the time. I could go on but I think you get it. This is what a Puppymill is and a BYB is on the same level just a smaller version. Puppymills are commercial breeders that have upward of 200 - 500 breeding dogs or more. A BYB - this breeder has 93 dogs. According to the link she was sited - it was more then drainage. Would you want YOUR puppy to live that life - drainage or not? These are the questions WE ALL have to ask and think about before we buy. It's not about whether OUR puppy is healthy or was socialized in someone's house. It's about the parents also. Are they inside someone's house being loved or are they in a kennel or a small wire cage and used just to breed over and over. I'm not being snotty in any way I'm just trying to educate on where some of these puppies come from. And petstores pay so little for them that it's cheaper to have a puppy die, refund the $$ (if you're lucky) or offer a new puppy to the customer then to just simply pay the vet bill. This is why there are so many lawsuits and so many hearbroken families. Elaine
Good post....but you forgot to include many times....byb's and puppymills do not get veterinary care for their animals...breeders or puppies.
