I am sorry for Joey's problems. My pup Bobo also had a liver shunt which was diagnosed at 4 mos (thanks to my reading all the info here on Yorkie talk) it was a pretty quick diagnosis after he started showing signs of being sick, he had his surgery at UF Vet school when he was 5 mos old and now he is over a year old and seems to be in good health now.
