It's not too late to train Toast. However, if she is set in her ways, it might take awhile.

First, do you believe in crating? Or confining her to a small area?

You are going to have to get tough with her. If you can't watch her and make sure she isn't pooping in the house, she need to be confined. If she is loose and poops in the house, then you are not watching her close enough(I know it sound mean but you have to take charge.) Big praises when she go outside and doing it right. Put on a strick potty and food schedule.

The trick is to put more structure in the dog's life and add decipline for dog and owner. Consistancy and repetition is the key.
