You can imagine what the jokes were. But, we took second Friday. There were four dark puppies. The girl that beat me was just like my girl. They could have been twins except she was larger and SHE trotted good. My gal decided to lay down and put her face between her paws and roll her eyes at the judge. When he got ready to circle us, he looked at me and asked me if I thought she would follow the other dog. She did but on her one to one, she wouldn't even go back to the judge. But, he just laughed and NO dark dogs were DQ'd altho Andi said she was the one that had her other puppy DQ'd a couple of months ago because it too light. |
Hey, dont be sooooooo sensitive!!!! Kirsten is one of the best handlers around. She has always been great with me and is always very informative. I doubt if they were joking about you or your dog. I got my feelings hurt at my first show and some others too. I now have rinocerous hide instead of thin skin.LOL Alot of exhibitors come off as snobs, but they are usually VERY busy and show many dogs and breeds. Some will take along time to warm up to you and if you come off with a bad or unfriendly attitude towards them first, they will not give you the time of day. I know how it is to be on the outside looking in. Dont feel bad because your girl wouldnt walk!! She is a puppy!! It happends!!

Your day will come!!!!

Ask questions and listen. Dont be opinionated or bad-mouth. You can learn BOAT-LOADS from these professionals/exhibitors and make some wonderful friends and mentors.
I am sorry your day didnt go great for you. But there is always another day!!
