It is easiest to go from a sit to a down than directly from a stand to a down at first. Have her assume the sit position. Then, gradually coax her into down by holding a treat in your hand. Gradually form a "L" from sit to down. If she doesn't follow the treat and go down, gently press her down while saying "down". If you still have trouble, put her up high on something narrow, like an ironing board, then practice at one end. There is something about being up high on a narrow space that makes it easier to coax them into "down". I am going to PM you with a link for training tips.
