I would leave as soon as I could also.. and I bet he will soon learn that you can stand on your own and do not need his behavior to you.. show him that he will miss you more then you will miss him..
If he treats his wife worse then that, then it is not you.. and he is just a big bully type man.. that will never change.. you need a life and deserve a life..
