Well, Woodie is a big fella now. He weighs a little over fifteen pounds. He's a very mellow sorta guy, and thank goodness is over chewing up table legs and window sills etc. He's pretty patient too. He sleeps in his 3 X 5 ft. pen at night. When we have company over and he starts being obnoxious, he's put in his pen too. We never hear a peep out of him. At night, about 11:00 or so, I tell him to go to bed, it's time to go nite nite, and he goes right in there to his pen and waits for me to pick him up and put him in there.
We never have taught him to "come", when he's outside though. I have tried attaching a long small nylon cord to his harness and letting out in the front yard. Then I call him, and when he doesn't come, I slowly pull him to me. When he's at my feet, I praise him and give him a treat. Well, he picked right up on that! Everytime I put that harness and long rope on, he comes right back to me. The problem is that when I take the rope off his harness, he can't hear me call him anymore. I guess I'll have to take him in to have his ears checked.
