No your not over reacting at all. These little ones will eat everything.
When Buddy was a puppy and I walked him he picked up cigarett butts,
pine cones, paper or anything he could get his mouth around. He would
clench his jaws together so I could not get the item out! I really thought
he was going to be a terror!. You have to watch them much like you would a toddler and keep the house puppy proffed. Somehow
They do outgrow it, eventually but in the mean time you needs eyes
behind you head. I'm sure he will be ok if it was only a tiny piece.
It should pass with no problems.
