Our dog sleeps in the guest bedroom in his crate with the door shut. Some day he might be allowed to sleep on the guest bed, but never in ours. I would suggest something like this. Do you have a spare room with a bed? if you gate him out of the room and he can see the two of you in bed together i think he will get very upset. You can try crate training but i figure you'll will have at least a couple weeks of sleepless nights.
