I have a car starter, so I park, shut off my car, get out and press the button to lock the doors and then press the start button. The car starts and runs, and if anyone broke into it to try to drive it, it would shut off and also notify me that someone was messing with my car. Around here, it's so cold, that even if I don't have the dogs with me, I usually leave it running.
