You are very right. I believe in my first post I mentioned lighting. There are many other factors too. Like keeping your subject about 4 feet from your back ground and the right f/stop. I didnt know that about P&S cameras. They definitely have come a long way!! My friend just bought a ps and it has 12 mp! Crazy! The only reason I say anything is because I know a lot of people have bought Canon Rebel XTs and such on this site and I don't want people wondering why things aren't going smoothly when all they do is change the shutter speed. You did do a great job though because you narrowed it down very well. Photo Shoots turn into very complicated endeavors.
You do give a lot of great tips!! Helpful to a lot of people I'm sure.
