I used to work at a dog boutique/grooming place (I worked in the boutique). We had a drop off time between 8 and 10 in the morning. Generally, the ones dropped off first would be bathed and groomed first. So dogs dropped off right at 8 were normally done before lunch or soon after while the dogs dropped off at 10 might not be done until 5:00. The bathers bathe, dry, and brush the dogs to get them ready for the groomer and then the groomers cut the hair. Bathing takes a 30 minutes, drying takes 30minutes to an hour (or more depending on the dog) and brushing takes a while too (especially if dogs are matted). Then grooming takes 30minutes to an hour per dog (depending on cut, size and behavior). I just don't think it's fair to assume a groomer will be done in 2 hours. We did have an "express groom" that cost $15 more...the owner brought the dog in and it was immediately bathed, dried, and groomed and out in 1.5-2 hours. So unless a groomer is making scheduled appointments throughout the day and doing one dog from start to finish...you have to expect there to be some wait time.
