That sort of sounds like Max when he had pancreatitis, but they diagnosed it right away. Of course, it happened at night on a Friday so we had to take him to the emergency clinic. He had to stay all weekend (I picked him up on Monday morning) with IV's in and getting meds. They need to keep their stomach empty to give it a rest and they can only do that by putting them on IV's so they still get some nutrition and fluids. The amylase is usually the first thing they check, so make sure that they did, b/c if it goes for too long he's really going to be dehydrated and the inflammation can cause more internal damage.
If this vet doesn't do something, take him to one who will.
