When I got Cali, Maya my Pom was 8 and she is not a real sweet girl. She accepted Cali since Cali was pretty laid back and didn't seem to bother her much. Then we brought in Pixie a year or so later and she was 13 months old and use to being with dogs. She loves Maya and watches out for her and lays right in front of her. Maya accepted her fine. When we got Roxie they all seemed to not like her at first. Maya does not like her much and it may be because she is a little on the hyper side and doesn't respect Maya's space. Every now and then when treats are involved or they get to close to her when playing, Maya lets them know she's not happy by growling at them. But all in all they all get along. i think it's important to not let the puppy annoy the older dog and let them work it out slowly under your supervision.
