I have a 10 year old Shihtzu and she wasn't fond of Phoebe for the first couple of days. She pulled her dominating act of trying to pin her in corners and pouncing. I was very protective but yet gave them every opportunity to get to know each other. I took them to potty together, they ate together, they both get treats at the same time, etc. After day 3 I was no longer concerned, my Shihtzu had lost the attitude and loves to play with Phoebe. They are now good friends lol
Just a little time and patience, they should be fine
