Default Mommy Place

Hey everyone my boss wanted me to pass this along to all the mothers I knew, please take a minute to read her letter and visit the site. It would mean a lot to me. If you find it helpful feel free to forward it to any moms you know.

Thanks!

-Mandie

Hello Friends, Family, and Colleagues: It is with great excitement that I announce the launch of my new business, Mommyplace. com. <http://mommyplace. com Advice for Moms, from Moms Many of know that I have been working on this for nearly two years and the website is finally live. Mommyplace. com is a website that allows Moms to share advice in a very user friendly way. The site was designed using Wiki technology. If you have used Wikipedia, you will find that Mommyplace. com is, in my words, 'a pink Wikipedia for Moms'. I created this website because I found that other advice sharing mechanisms (specifically message boards) were not user friendly and took too much time for me to find the advice I was looking for. I also found that answers to some of my smaller questions (e.g., what temperature to keep Nathan's room at night, how to keep him hydrated when he was sick, what to pay a babysitter) were impossible to find. Mommyplace. com was designed to make searching for information extremely easy. My development team created content categories on the homepage so that it's very easy to find information that you might be looking for. It's also just as easy to add your own Mommy wisdom. So, now comes the favor. I will be eternally in your debt if you help me in three areas: 1) Please add your own Mommy wisdom to the site. I have created nearly 50 topics/articles on the site and continue to add more content on a daily basis. But I did not design the site to be 'Staci Ball's How to Be a Parent' manual. I am hoping that Moms around the world will add their own successes and advice to the site so that it becomes a rich resource for Moms everywhere. There is a link on the homepage called 'How to add a topic'. This will provide 5 easy steps on how to add or edit content. I am hoping that all of you will become regular members of the Mommyplace community for many years and that you will continue to add your Mommy wisdom to the site as your children grow. By the way...Dads are welcome too! 2) Edit content that is already on the site. Disagree with something? Delete it! Have something to add to an already existing topic? Add it! Again, the site is a Wiki based application so members of the Mommyplace community control what is on the site. 3) Please forward this site to your friends. Gordie and I funded the development of this site ourselves and we have a small budget left over for marketing. I am working fast and furiously on getting the site out there but I'm relying heavily on word of mouth. This is just the first phase of Mommyplace. com. I already have a second phase for the site mapped out and hope to release that a year from now. With any luck and your support, Mommyplace. com will be a long running entity. Finally, if you have any suggestions for the site, the marketing of the site, or anything at all, I welcome your comments. You can continue to reach me at this email address or at Staci@MommyPlace.com Thanks in advance for your support. Best,SB
