I learned my lesson too with my toy poodle. We lived next door to my grandparents who watched him during the day. They just would not listen when I told them he was not supposed to eat their dog's canned food. When we moved away, I kept giving it to him because it's all he would eat. In hindsight, I should have tried harder... He had terrible teeth though and the vet ended up pulling most of them by the time we lost him at 15 years. Toy breeds have a tendency to have teeth issues so I am very strict in giving Tatum dry food only - even mostly crunchy treats too with the occasional soft treat.
