If you have signed up for any newsletters or given your email to any website (no matter how legit they may seem) they may have gotten it from there. A lot of websites harvest email addresses and sell them. Also, if you responded to any classified ads like on Craigslist or such, sometimes it's not a real seller and they get your email address from that too.
