I've always done the pre-op bloodwork before any of mine went under for anything. It just lets you know everything is o.k. for them to go under. I've always done the pre-op blood panel though not a bile acid test so you might want to ask about the difference and what each one is for. Personally, I wouldn't risk anesthesia without doing the bloodwork.
