Sweetie, stick with it...if it's a good job that you like especially! I worked all shifts in my life as an RN...and I'm NOT a daytime sleeper AT ALL....it was hard for me to work nights, but one thing that might help a lot is those foam earplugs....PM me if you want to know exactly the ones I'm talking about. I worked in ICU and I had sort of a schedule like yours..I worked 12 hour shifts (toward the end of my working....before it was just 8 hrs, which REALLY sucks!), but usually just 2 days in a row and then had a couple of days off. I luckily had enough going on to keep me on my toes at work and I'd just make the best of those days. I also could get off early if our census went down, so that was nice too (not that I could afford it, but only my animals are high maintenance, LOL). When I first started in nursing night shift was the ONLY shift ...and I can tell you ...I NEVER got used to sleeping during the day......I always felt sort of drug thru the wringer, LOL...but if it's not forever, you can hang! I have girlfriends I worked with who swore by Tylenol PM, but I hate anything that has hydroxyzine (Benadryl) in it unless I am REALLY in need of it for allergies. Just made me feel drugged all day(Night) long. Black out your room where you sleep, take the phone off the hook, turn the cell phone off, and put in earplugs....good luck to you!
