It's definitely true. If you have a litter of say lab-mix pups at a shelter...some blonde and some black. I guarantee you those blonde ones will get adopted out first. I think part of the problem though is that black is normally a dominate coat color and that there are more black dogs in shelters. But I guess a lot of people prefer the lighter coats when they adopt
