I just posted a few days ago regarding this topic. Cody was scooting and just soooo miserable. I took him to the vet because I was so concerned not knowing if he was injured since he just wasnt walking right. The vet checked all possibilites before he went for the anal gland. And it was impacted, he just told me to observe and if it happens again he would do an xray to see what would be causing the blockage. He is fine now, I just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
