Since yorkies are so small - I opted to use a service bell for potty training. We place it right next to the door. It works great! Hubby thought I was crazy!
Once potty trained, we also placed a bell in our upstairs bedroom - but Bailey would ring it when she wanted to play outside. It got annoying - so I removed the bell. Bailey quickly noticed the springy door stop and now paws at it to tell us she needs to go out. Its hilarious!!!!!! The best thing is that she only paws at it when she's serious.
