It is so nice to keep coming back to this thread and see all the continued words of encouragment. Thank you!
When I went to pick Sebastian up from the vet (to take him to the ER for the night) I found out that during his second blood transfusion he started having an irregular heart rate so they had to stop the transfusion. When I got him to the ER they finished the blood transfusion and he was fine. However I was a little discouraged because when they took his red blood count it only went from 16,00 to 17,000. They are really hoping that he stays stable at 16,000 through the night and that by tomorrow the zinc will have worked out of his system enough for his red blood cells to start building back up or at least to stabilize and stop depleting. His blood is still not coagulating properly, but it hasn't gotten worse at least. They will watch him tonight and hopefully he won't need another blood transfusion and hopefully he makes it through the night. They will redo his bloodwork at around 1am to check his levels. If he's not stabilized by morning we will be going under the care of the internal medicine specialist.
I'm really, really tired so this is all I can think to update right now. I hope it somewhat made sense. He just looks so pitiful it breaks my heart to see him like this. And, I hate that I can't be there with him all the time. It's only been 36 hours since he was hospitalized but it feels like an eternity
