THE PEOTONE PUPPY MILL DOGS
On March 1st, 49 dogs were rescued from a puppy mill in Peotone and all are now residing at PAWS. It will be awhile until the dogs are available for adoption as they must gain weight and be altered prior to adoption. The breeds rescued include Maltese, Yorkies, Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Poodles, Pug and various mixtures of the above breeds. Many of the dogs are young, some as young as 3-4 months and go up to a few years old. Please be patient as it will take some time to get all 49 dogs healthy and able to find new homes. If you are interested in a dog please feel free to email us and we will keep you updated on their progress, along with their progress on our website. We will begin posting pictures of these dogs shortly.
Update: March 2nd: All dogs are doing well and we would like to say thank you to On The Spot mobile grooming and Paz Pampered Paws mobile grooming who came to the shelter to groom these dogs who so desperately needed it. Deb and Auburn gave us many, many hours of thier time today and have put a huge dent in our grooming crisis with the Peotone dogs.
