DEFINITELY do what marcerella02 said. That's probably the easiest way to potty train. Good luck.
I would also buy a blacklight, an enzyme cleaner, and get access to a carpet shampooer so that you can start over from scratch. If the carpet still smells like potty, they'll continue to go there.
