I have lots of experiance with this.....
I had 2 ferrets Murphy and Willis... AWESOME PETS! They rate right up there with yorkies to me. I had the ferrets almost 4 years b4 getting Bella...she LOVED them and they loved her. My ferrets were very social and used to animals tho...I took them everywhere they had a lil carrier and met many people and creatures. I will say this...In a fight between yorkie and Ferret my money is on the ferret....so be careful....they play rough they have very thick skin so they tend to bite back twice as hard as being bit. They do not have a "killer instinct" so to speak but they can fight and you will see this when they fight with each other they scream hiss and carry on just like dogs. When they fight they remind me more of a Cat than a dog. Bella and Willis were closest I would say and she sat on him and loved him like no other. thats her sitting on him in the pics...her favorite thing to do
The lighter one is Murphy...he is the trouble maker...

Oh mine had free roam of the house slept in a 4 level cage only at night. they enjoys walks (with harness of course) playing outside and snuggling VERY MUCH! When you come in the door they will kiss your face like crazy just like a Yorkie!!!
