Thanks for all the get well wishes again!

I called the vet to check on him. I guess his red blood cells had dropped to 16,000 as of noon, and so they started him on a blood transfusion. The good thing about them being so small is that one pint of blood can give them several transfusions if needed. I guess also his coagulation time was prolonged (meaning the blood is having trouble clotting) and that has continued to get worse as well. They gave him a medicine that is supposed to help bind up the zinc in his system so he can try to get rid of it easier. I guess it takes 24-48 hours for that to start working. So, things are not going very well. But, the vet said the good news is that he's still very alert and he's not showing signs of internal bleeding yet. I'm supposed to call back between 4pm and 5pm to find out how he is. I will update again then.
