I'll try to answer best as I can....
1.) Does anyone feed their puppy pedialyte? I want to do this once everyday (maybe 1 cc) to keep Kash well-hydrated.
I never gave Zoe pedialyte so I can't really help with this.
2.) If you do feed pedialyte, do you feed a certain flavor? Or the unflavored? I've tasted the unflavored pedialyte and it DOES NOT taste good.
Again, no pedialyte so I'm not much help.
3.) Should I be worried that Kash's stool is suddenly smaller/less than before? I noticed this morning that his poop was only two small pieces (a little smaller than the size of two good and plenty candies pictured below). Before this morning, he had long poo (like 2 inches), and it was always one continuous piece. I haven't changed his diet. He eats Merricks canned food in the morning and night, and has access to dry kibble and water all day. I also give him freeze-dried liver treats as a reward every time he goes potty.
Even now, Zoe's stool sizes do vary. I was used to bigger dogs so the size was a pleasant surprise but when I put her on raw, the size of her stools was even smaller. Merricks is suposed to be pretty good and the better the food, the smaller the stool so maybe that is why?
4.) How old was your yorkie before he/she could get down steps? Kash is great at climbing stairs, but he is too scared to come down them. Will he gain the courage as he gets older and bigger? I
got Zoe at 15 weeks and it probably took a good month or two before she could do stairs well. Now she comes down them so fast she makes me nervous. I'm sure he'll get the hang of it.
5.) Does anyone use flea medication? If so, which brand? I’ve noticed that Kash does not get fleas… is this because Yorkies have hair and not fur? Or maybe it’s too cold for fleas to be thriving. But I live in FL so its way warmer here than up north. My parents’ yorkie has never gotten flea medication and she’s never had a flea! She’s 9 years old. What are the benefits of using flea medication if there’s no need to prevent them?
Not during the winter cause I'm in the Northeast but I do when it gets nicer out. We use frontline plus. I kills fleas ticks and lice. I would say you are lucky if your baby does not have fleas as many others on here have had the opposite situation. So yes, yorkies can get fleas. Good luck! Hope I helped!
