I had my little boy neutered at 8 months.
I was told by the breeder to wait till a year too, but he lives with my female Skye Terriers & was already showing an interest in them. I decided to get him done before they came back into season as there's no way I wanted cross breed puppies from my rare breed Skyes
He's been fine. He did still try to hump them, but less so once the hormones had subsided after 8 weeks.
Five months later, he still plays humping, mostly with my Yorkie bitches, but they do it to him mostly
He gets fed up & takes himself off to bed
