It's difficult knowing how to handle this sort of thing and sometimes people who abuse children and pets love the symphony they get from others by admitting they do it.
In other words, showing too much compassion for them enables them to continue the abuse. I wish there was a good way to suggest that these people get professional help, they have probably suffered abuse themselves.
When we adopted Joey, the breeder gave us the third degree of every aspect of our homes and lives and we talked many hours on the phone about my beliefs in discipline. Now I understand why she was so hesitant to give out her precious babies to just anyone.
