So my family just got a 10 and a half month old male and for the first day it played with our other dog (a 10 year old yellow lab female) great.

Then yesterday afternoon all of a sudden, literally within the span of a few minutes, he discovered that he has the ability to hump her. Now all he does is go at it. It is comical of course since all he humps is air since she is so tall, but i had a question whether or not we can get him neutered yet.

I have heard conflicting accounts that you should wait a year for developmental reasons, and I have heard that as soon as they are sexually mature (as of yesterday at 3pm) that it is ok as well.

Obviously there are some pretty informed posters on this site so I thought that I would ask for some advice. Is 10 months too early to get neutered and if not, will this end his nonstop lebido?
